Trong thiết kế chiếu sáng văn phòng nên chọn các loại thiết bị chiếu sáng với ánh sáng trắng như đèn tuýp, dowlinght,... và nên sử dụng các hình thức chiếu sáng gián tiếp để tránh loa mắt khi làm việc.
Tiêu chuẩn thiết kế ánh sáng văn phòng làm việc theo CIBSE thì một toàn nhà cần có các tiêu chuẩn về ánh sáng như sau:
+ Sảnh, phòng đợi cần 200lux
+ Nhà bảo vệ 200lux
+ Hành lang cầu thang 100lux
+ Thang cuốn 150lux
Mức ánh sáng tiêu chuẩn để có thể đọc sách phải đạt chuẩn từ 300 – 500lux, do đó trong công việc đều yêu cầu mức chiếu ánh sáng này trong phòng làm việc nhầm đảm bảo chiếu sáng tốt là điều cần thiết để làm việc một cách hiệu quả. Làm việc trong môi trường có ánh sáng phù hợp sẽ mang lại hiệu suất làm việc tốt hơn. Với một văn phòng làm việc thông thường phải cần tối thiểu 400lux, phòng nghỉ là 150lux...
Cách bố trí bóng đèn theo tiêu chuẩn ánh sáng văn phòng
+ Sử dụng đèn huỳnh quang T8 – 36W, sáng hơn loại đèn huỳnh quang thông thường 20% và 130% so với đèn có công suất 100W, màu sắc thật và gần với ánh sáng tự nhiên.
+ Đèn phải sử dụng chao chụp phản quang để tăng cường độ sáng và độ đồng đều khi phân bố ánh sáng.
+ Các dãy đèn nên được bố trí song song với hướng nhìn và cửa để hạn chế ánh sáng làm lóa mắt.
+ Ánh sáng của nguồn sáng dài phải được bố trí chiếu trực tiếp từ trần nhà xuống.
+ Nên sử dụng quạt tường, lắp ở độ cao 2,5m dọc theo thiết kế văn phòng để khắc phục tình trạng chia cắt ánh sáng khi sử dụng quạt.
+ Số lượng đèn bố trí trong một văn phòng ít nhất cần phải đảm bảo được độ rọi sáng theo tiêu chuẩn. Mật độ công suất tiêu thị 10W/m2.
Bố trí đèn hay ánh sáng trong văn phòng làm việc ngoài vấn đề đặt ra phải đạt được những tiêu chuẩn trên không thể không nhắc đến không gian làm việc. Nhiều loại đèn có kích thước quá lớn có thể sẽ làm cản trở quá trình làm việc trong văn phòng, ngoài ra lựa chọn đèn có thiết kế phù hợp là một trong những vấn đề không thể bỏ qua trong quá trình thiết kế văn phòng sao cho có ánh sáng tiêu chuẩn.
